VPLAB DOWNLOAD

1. Downloading the VPLab archive

a) Create a new folder on your hard drive for the downloaded archive.

b) Download the VPLab archive by clicking with the right button on this link: Virtual_Physics_Lab.zip (4,4 MB) and choosing Save as... You will be asked to save the file on your hard disk; save it in the folder you created at step b).

c) Open the folder created at step b) and click with the right button on the icon of the file Virtual_Physics_Lab.zip, and choose Extract to folder C:\[...]. A folder named Virtual_Physics_Lab will be created, with all the files needed to start the lab application.

2. Starting the lab application

Open the folder created at step 1c) and double-click on the file named Virtual Physics Laboratory.exe. This will start the lab application.

You can make a shorcut on your desktop to facilitate the access to the lab. Using the right button, drag to your desktop the icon of the file and choose Make shortcut.

The application starts with the NAVIGATION window, which contains all the initally planned experiments. The yellow buttons , , , , give access, for each experiment (or group of experiments) that has been developed as part of the prototype, to the SIMULATION (Manipulation and Analysis) and DOCUMENTATION (Presentation, Explanations, and Theory / Applications) workspaces of the experiment or group.

You only have to go on-line if you click on one of the buttons which gives access to the VPLab Web site, such as the Web hompage button , the online video library button or the on-line laboratory guide button . Note that the application interface and the acompanying documents are in English, but the videos are in French.
